scifi_muses Bug: Ever pull the wing off a fly? Care to see the fly get even?
Duct tape. Duct tape and curare. I’d be laughing out loud, but I don’t want to give anything away. Not yet. Let Mohinder think he’s got the upper hand. People make the biggest mistakes when they think they’re in charge. I am getting a little bored though, so it is time to start pressing the buttons. Time to make him try to kill me, so I can show him what a complete idiot he really is, and after the fucking tuning fork in the ear, what did he expect?
The daddy card is the best in my hand.
He’s so eager to make it up to his dearly departed daddy. To beg for his forgiveness because he thought the old man was a crackpot. He’d never admit it of course. He’s saintly Mohinder Suresh out to kill me for killing his father.
I can hear it now. ‘I’m Mohinder Suresh. You killed my father. Prepare to die.’
He never believed in Chandra’s work. Not until he met a few of us and found out we were real. Of course by then it was too late, since Chandra was taking up space in an oh so lovely urn.
So I let Mohinder have it. Telling him how his father knew what I was, but that he let me keep killing. How the man confided in me, telling me how Mohinder was a disappointment, but what did he expect he’d only been born to save his sister? He couldn’t even do that right, since she died before he could be any help to her.
He’s so insecure. He’d do anything to prove that he’s worthy of Chandra’s love. It’s pathetic really. The man is dead.
“Who’s the real parasite here?” Push, push, push… come on Mohinder. Do it. Grow a pair and do it.
Well that didn’t go the way I planned. Impromptu spinal tap while I’m wearing a Ramones’ t-shirt how ironic. Painful as fuck too.
He should have killed me when he was finished, but oh no he had to go analyze my spinal fluid. I didn’t mind waiting. The research would help me out in the long run. It was so cute how he got all excited when he figured it out, and it was time for me to play the pity card. I’m a victim in this Mohinder. I didn’t want this. Let me go.
“Give me the damn list, so I can sink my teeth in!” Oops that was my outside voice.
BANG! Bullets $20. Gun $150 on the black market. The expression on Mohinder’s face priceless.
“I wasn’t begging for my life. I was offering you yours.” You moron. Running away would have been a good idea, but no he just stood their sniveling like a deer in the headlights while I showed him what I could do. “You are your father’s son.”
I wasn’t even using my power to hold him place. He was shaking to the core. Great alligator tears running down his face. I was pretty sure he’d piss himself soon enough. I couldn’t wait to see how much damage I could do to him without killing him outright. I loomed over him; I could hear his heart hammering in his chest. His fear tasted like heaven, and if he had a power, it would have been breathing hard myself. Too bad he didn’t.
“Son of a bitch.” He wasn’t as stupid as I thought. He locked the laptop up before pulling the gun on me. I don’t have his password. “Nice move, Mohinder. I didn’t think the world’s dumbest smart person would think of that.”
I flick my fingers and send him careening face first into the wall. His blood splattered when he hit, his nose spouting, and his lip split. I hold him there, pressing him harder and harder while I force the air out of his lungs.
“So here’s the way it’s going to be. You’re going to give me the password, or I’m going to hurt you.”
“You mean you’re going to kill me, you, you monster!” His voice is muffled as I come up behind him and rub his face against the plaster.
“I don’t need you dead, Mohinder. You’re no good to me dead. You’re barely good to me alive, but until I kill someone who can read minds, I’m going to need your help.” My fingers twist into his hair, and I pull his head back while keeping his body pinned in place. It’s the opposite of what he did to me, and the human neck isn’t meant to move like that. The cords and veins in his neck look like they are ready to snap. “Hurts like a bitch, doesn’t it? All I have to do is twist a bit further, and I’ll break your neck. But I won’t do it to kill you. No I’ll leave you paralyzed like a vegetable.”
“What is the password!” I screamed it in his ear, then bounced his face into the wall a couple more times before letting him fall to the threadbare carpet.
“If I tell you, you’ll kill all those people after you kill me.”
“Right again. That’s twice in one day. We should put that on your My Space.” Flipping him onto his back with a tiny bit of power, I raised my foot, holding it over his throat. His eyes widened and breath quickened, sending bubbles of snot and blood out the end of his nose as I brought my foot down on his hair. “Fooled you. Not going to kill you that fast. Where would the fun be in that?”
He whimpered as I edged my foot closer to his skull, pulling more and more of his hair. Then I moved to straddle him, grabbing his collar to lift his face to mine. “I could hear you, all night long through the walls of that motel. I didn’t even need Dale’s ability when you got loud. Who knew you liked Zane so much? To call out his name while you jerked off. Is that a sin for you? Masturbation I mean? I should have asked Chandra, but I’m pretty sure the old man would have sputtered until his head exploded. If he knew what a pervert you are, he’d be coughing on his own ashes.”
“You bastard!” His fingers wrapped around my wrists while he tried to get me to let him go, so I did with an extra push of telekinesis to drive the back of his head onto the floor with a satisfying crunch. Blood filled his mouth from where he’d bitten his tongue.
Getting up I pulled him with me, still using my telekinesis to send him spinning and crashing through more of the cheap furniture. His fingers went for the gun where it had landed. I was so hoping he would. Focusing my power I locked his fingers, so he couldn’t pull the trigger and yanked it out of his hand.
Then I heard the stomping. Someone charging up the steps and coming down the hallway toward the door, and they were shouting Mohinder’s name.
“Too bad. Looks like playtime is over.” With a shit eating grin I lifted him to the ceiling, holding him in place and slipped back into the shadows to wait. “Make a sound, Mohinder, and I’ll torture whoever that is in front of you. I’ll make you watch. Hell, I’ll make you eat his guts while I do it. Understand?”
