I made 3 of the best friends of my life through RP and a love of Buffy and Highlander. The Five as we all ourselves still talk almost daily on line. Two of us (including my sister) live in the US, and the other three in the UK. We share a love of the original fandom that brought us together, and the sisterhood we have formed over the years. The Five of us have been together since 1999. That's an incredibly long time.
I've made so many awesome friends in the Heroes fandom, and some of you are my family too. I have new sisters around the world that I talk to everyday, and we will always be family. I don't have a cute name for us. But you know who you are.
We've been through hell and back together, fighting off the drama llamas...
I love you guys.
Always will.
The end of a series doesn't spell the end of a fandom. TOS was killed by NBC too, before most of my friends were born. I saw it in reruns, and it was my first fandom. I wrote fanfic before I knew what it was in school to keep my mind busy. When Buffy was canceled I didn't cry, because it was time. When Angel was taken from us far too early I did. I'm still pissed at Joss for killing both my boys in the end, Lindsey and Wesley.
I still hate Scifi for killing Farscape when they promised us 2 more seasons, then changed their minds. Farscape will always be the best show they ever had on the air. It was so much better than any of the Stargates, and it was certainly better than what they did to BSG.
FOX screwed with me three times - Profit, Firefly and Drive. I still watch Bones, Fringe and Glee there, but they will never get me to devote myself to a fandom. No Fringe, Bones or Glee fic has ever spilled from my brain, and no friendships were forged for those programs.
I will miss the hell out of Heroes. Sure they fucked it up royally with plotholes you could steer a planet through, but for one hour a week, I got to escape with Sylar, Peter and miss the Heroes that shouldn't have been killed off.
My muse still lives. As a matter of fact, Sylar's sharing brain space with Peter now. Go fig...
I think I'll always write Heroes fic, just like I still write Star Trek.
The Watchmaker is not going anywhere.
