They thought they were so clever. Sneaking out of the house to go on their little date. It was really too bad that Bennett and his annoying little woman didn’t have ears as good as mine. I’d been searching for them for so long. And now little Claire was close enough that I could taste her. I wouldn’t fail again, not this time. She had something I needed desperately if I was ever going to take care of Peter Petrelli. Just thinking about him made me grind my teeth until they hurt.
Thanks to Dale, I could listen to the house from a block and a half away. Far enough that I could watch Bennett head for work in his purple drone’s uniform for his crappy assed office supply job, and he wouldn’t get suspicious. Of course it helped that I parked in a different place everyday while I watched and learned their coming and goings. It also helped that I stole a different car for it too. Ducking beneath the dashboard of the Mustang I’d taken last night, I listened as Bennett’s car drove off into the great beyond. I didn’t move until I couldn’t hear him anymore.
