Chapter: 1/7
The first time I saw her, the bright neon lights were reflecting off of her skin tight catsuit like a kaleidoscope. When she moved it was like watching a panther take flight. Sleek, black and deadly, her guns blazing a trail of destruction tearing apart the creatures she was hunting.
It made my breath catch as I watched from the shadows. Ducking back when a splash of hot blood splattered against the brick wall beside me. I’d never seen such unbridled violence, and it was making my heart race.
She turned towards me then, her eyes the same brilliant blue as one of the glowing tubes of neon. Her lips were pale, pink and barely covering her own sharp teeth as brushed them over the back of her sleeve to wipe the werewolve’s blood away.
Her gun is aimed at me in a fraction of a second. I can see her trying to decide if I’m friend or foe. I don’t wait to find out. Raising my hand, I send her flying backwards into a heavy cement column. She hits it hard enough for it to crack and chunks of it fall to the pavement besides her fallen body. But before I can approach, she is getting back to her feet.
“What are you?” she hisses as she aims at me again. This time she doesn’t hesitate, and I am forced to block her bullets with my power.
“That’s for you to find out,” I said in a whisper as I let the bullets fall to the ground before flying out into the night sky. “If you can catch me.”
